In 2020, Caroline released Shine, her debut solo album, which received widespread acclaim for Caroline’s intricate and evocative concertina playing. The album earned praise from critics and peers alike in both the folk and world music communities, propelling her into the spotlight. Her musical excellence was recognised with a nomination for ‘Best Folk Instrumentalist’ at the RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards, and she was honoured with the title of ‘Female Musician of the Year’ at the ASLR Celtic Music Awards.
Caroline has recently released Allta, the latest FOURWINDS album (2024), and is currently immersed in a variety of exciting creative projects. These include a duet program with fellow musician Tom Delany and the development of her much-anticipated second solo album. In 2023, she was awarded the prestigious Traditional Arts Bursary Award by the Arts Council of Ireland, which has allowed her to explore new musical horizons. This support has enabled her to experiment with adapting piano accompaniment techniques to the concertina, adding innovative harmonic and melodic layers to enhance her performances.
